I have an opinion on this matter.
McCain has promised to secure the border, right? Until that actually happens, there will be a lot of politics and pandering to get the votes.
Before the illegals get deported, there will be a lot of talk. No other President has closed the border, so it's likely to go on and on.
Second point: Hilary took questions from the audiance a while back. Turns out she planted questions in the audiance. That made her look bad. Kudos to McCain on that one, even if he failed the Reps in the process. He's been soft on Amnesty for a while now.
Getting more than the Republican vote is what will get McCain the Presidency. He has to suck up to the left. Has to.
The illegal alien problem has been ongoing for 40+ years... I personnaly agree with Ted Nugent when he say's "unleash the border guards, let them do what they do".

I totally agree with Red Collar. Better 1/3 Republican McCain than Obama. I've been saying it ad infinitum on GOC. Don't all of you do a Carter here. Republicans kicked Ford in the guts and gave the White House to Jimmah. If you give it to Obama, you won't get it back in 4 years, I guarantee you. If you give it to McCain, you'll get a better candidate in 4 years. It's the strategy. Let McCain do what he has to do to get elected. At least you know where he stands on TWOT. With Obama, you'll be invaded by Muslims, not Mexicans.

CD - Kennedy/McCain doesn't ring a bell. Have to tell you I never though he would be the nominee.Didn't pay much attention to him before it became official. Was very annoyed when it happened.
I guess getting your frustration out is necessary. The problem I see is that some people (including my old Texan friends) might not vote because they're so pissed off with McCain. They agree with everything you say. For me, not voting is giving the White House to Obama on a silver platter. I would vote TEN times to avoid this.
I try to find GOOD reasons to vote Republican to encourage the deeply conservative people who are bloody fed up with the Party. The main thing is not to put the White House in the hands of Obama. It would take a Civil War to get it back.
Ike rounded up 1.2 million illegals and closed the border in 1955. Another leader with a set of nuts could do the same.
