New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress is in big trouble. He carried a handgun without a permit to a nightclub and apparently shot himself in the thigh on accident. WTF! This is why I don't go to clubs anymore. Anyway, according to the article, New York City carries a 3-1/2 year prison sentence for carrying a handgun without a permit. I've got a big problem with that because I'm of the mold that the punishment ought to fit the crime.
Prison time? Proponents will say that this law was enacted to control the peace. I don't buy that bullshit for one New York minute. In fact, I think the New York law is yet another example of how the American left has been slowly chiseling away at the 2nd Amendment. Somebody please justify prison time for carrying a handgun without a permit.
Plaxico Burress will be held up and used as an example. They will prosecute him to the full extent of the law and give the case lots of public exposure because Burress is rich and famous.
The New York gun law is too harsh for first time offenders, and I can't take seriously the notion that it was enacted out of concern for public safety. The law is synonymous to sending a juvenile to prison for jay walking, or sentencing agents Compean & Ramos to 11 years for shooting a drug dealing illegal alien in the ass. This country is a mess, especially New York City. New York city officials, who all have egos bigger than their dicks, are using public safety as a smoke screen to hide the law's true intent: to compromise the 2nd Amendment. Fuck you.
If public safety was ever a concern in this country, September 11 would have been prevented, and agents Compean & Ramos would still be guarding our borders. No person with a reasonable level of common sense should trust this US government today.
Bend over, Plaxico. Youz about to get screwed brother and held up like a poster boy. But don't blame your upcoming woes on racism, dude. That play got stuffed on November 4, 2008.
