I've been helping my buddy K build his new house after hours for the last three years. I suppose it's part my fault that it's taken so long because I encourage drinks, but when I get there after work I wanna work. And drink. There is no reason why work can't get done while we're drinkin'. For some reason they get more done when I'm not there. I wonder why?
This new place is coming along faster than expected but I'm hoping to be in the 'old place' in a few months. No complaints here! I wanna move as much as K does! Bigger place, bigger yard, bigger garden and more freedom. (hear that libs? Freedom!)
Wheelie and Bunker aren't gonna know what to do with themselves. Birds, rats and lizards are everwhere! My money is on Bunker draggin' a bird into the house and under the bed. She's a mouser and doesn't apologize for anything!
The new place is fucking tits! It might not look like it now, but you should've seen this place when we started. Ground up.
We're in the final stages and I can't wait to get into my new place! Sometimes life fucking sucks and sometimes life is good. For the time being, life is fucking good!

That place kicks ass. I'm not too sure about the dark cupboards, it sucks up the light. Love the hardwood floors though.

I thought the same thing about the cabinets. Too dark for my taste, but that's the cleanest kitchen I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. They took their time and it came out like they (she) wanted it...
The hardwood floors is what's happening right now. It's definately a skill that I don't have, but I'm learning as time goes by. Fully custom!
I should be in there by August, so if you're in SlimeDiego around that time look me up. The house warming rager is going to rage!

Deadman, I don't think the accomodations will be as cool as the July bash, but a party is definately scheduled. It would probably be a crappy sequal (as most movies are), but if you're in the area stop on by. There will be lots to eat and plenty to drink, that's a guarantee! Riding the rails would be fucking killer!

kerrcarto, the dude who I'm helping build his place is a finish carpenter and a Jack of all trades. His floors are coming out really nice! This entire place from ground up has been built by nothing but friends and enormous amounts of beer provided by the owner. I would have to say that I had the most fun framing the joint, and the least fun doing drywall. The hardwood floors should be done today and tomorrow we sand, we drink, we eat, we drink, and we drink and drink...
Jackie D, come on down! You should realize though, that I have A LOT of shit to move. I've been boxing shit up for about a month now and I haven't even made a dent. I will definately need some help breaking the place in though. Come on down...

We ended up having pretty much nothing but that sort of flooring after discovering it is easier to clean than carpet. Not scrubbing cat hurl out of carpet is a huge plus. Area rugs can be replaced fairly easily.
PeggyU it's Maple, and yeah the easy clean-up of kitty antics is a definate bonus. Carpet sucks!
That kitchen looks huge. Thats what I miss the most since I sold my condo. Counter space to sprawl food, bowls, pots and pans. You'll have fun trying new dishes. I'm so happy for you, CD. Just wish I could attend the party. I'll send you a cyber Congrats Card and lift my glass here for all of your good health!;-)
Claudia, the kitchen is pretty big and there is a bunch of cupboard space too. K-man built the cabinets himself and did a bitchen job. I wish I was moving into the "new" place, but I'm okay with his "old" place. I'm going to have so much room and I can finally set up my drums that have been in a box for over a year.
As far as you attending the party, you'll be there in spirit and I will be sure to raise my glass to you and your good health as well! ;-)
