This One Time At Camp

We shipped The Boy off to summer camp at Camp La Junta in Hunt. It is a part of his schools DREAMS program. He kept his shit in one sock the whole year and a teacher nominated him for a free week at camp. He has a week of shooting guns, bows and arrows, horse back riding, swimming, canoeing, fishing, bible study and general kids stuff.

We dropped him off at 4:00 and I thought "Thank Jebus a week off" but it only took me two hours to ask where he was.

I hope he has a blast. I know I did at camp. So many memories made.
But damn. You don't know what you got till it's gone (insert teardrop here).

Sounds to me like he's a stoked little kid...

I know I was pretty fired up to do the above mentioned when I was his age. It gives me hope that kids still get to do the "evil" stuff the libtards want to take out of the curriculum...

I go through the same thing every week when my mom takes our son for the night so we can get a break. I look forward to a relaxing evening. But that lasts about an hour and I'm missing him horribly.

My son went there for two summers. He had a great time. You do miss them when they are gone though. I think they have go karts also.

Wow... wish they had something like that for girls.

H20 check out Camp Mystic, Sierra Vista or Camp Waldemar. They are all girl camps and are some of the top rated in the nation. The Bush twins went to Mystic (I was told)
