Fuggin Slacker!

Yeah, this on is dedicated to myself for not being quick on the draw with with un-packing of the boxes. I did however accomplish one goal...

Mowin' the lawn. I forgot how bitchen takin' care of the yard was. It's been a good seven years since I've had the pleasure of mowin' the grasss. I still have a bunch of boxes to unpack but this took priority.

Yeah, I know it still looks like shit, but you should've seen it before I did some trimming. I can't wait to get out the weed whacker and really go to town...

I'm really stoked about the flag pole. I've always wanted one and now I have one. Sometimes life is good...

The cache':

The boxes waiting to be un-loaded. Yeah I know the wallpaper sucks major ass. It will be gone soon. That's a fuckin' guarantee!

Bunker making sure I didn't leave anything out of her stash:

Bunks finally chillin' in the window and simmerin' down...

It's so damn good being in the new place, but it's a MF trying to settle in finally. Thank GOD for music or I would've blown my brains out by now...

Have fun in the new digs, plant some veggies and herbs while you're at it...

After the attacks on 9/11, I installed a flag pole (concrete base, spotlight on a timer...the total package). I flew the flag continuously until 20 January 2009. On that day, the Stars and Stripes came down and will not go back up until an American is back in the Oval office.

Anonymous, I have a better idea for you. Fly it upside down. Isn't that a distress signal? It will get more "appreciation" for your feelings than an empty flag pole will. I've been thinking about investing in a nice flag pole for the front yard and scrapping the small, flimsy one attached to my porch. Anyone ever undertook that job? Is it difficult? Seems like with the quick setting cements out there now, should be pretty easy. Any input?

Yes flying the flag upside down is a naval distress signal. CD now you just need a Texas flag to fly under it. Want one?

You've got yourself a great place, CD. I'm so glad for you. Bunker already found the window sill. The cat is home! For us, humans, it takes at least a year to unpack all boxes, put Artworks on the walls, and settle down. I envy your lawn. Don't forget to hang a small Canadian flag, next to yours, on Canada Day. All the best.;-)

A year to settle in? I wish. We moved eight years ago, and I'm still finding things I thought I'd lost for good.

PeggyU - I was talking as a single person. I don't even want to remember moving the whole family from Texas to the Arctic, in the 60s. And our tiny cat, Zero, wouldn't settle for months, though we were feeding him Arctic char (quite a delicacy!) Then, one day, he ventured on the road. And all the big Husky dogs (who had never seen a cat) ran away with fear. Even the Inuits were subdued. You should have seen the transformation! That cat took control of the village.I put a little cape on his shoulders. And we changed his name from Zero to Zorro.

Plenty of boxes I never opened there. Like our swimming gears...We had been so ridiculous with our packing.

Don't you like to rediscover what you have? It's like a shopping trip.

LOL! I love the cat story, Claudia :)

Sometimes it is fun to discover things you forgot you had. Other times, it's annoying because you already looked everywhere for it and then replaced it.

I have been back in the states for 9 years. Two weeks ago I picked up the last five boxes of stuff I had left at my parent's before I moved to Germany. They are currently in various states of disarray occupying most of my dining room.

Ray, before you buy one do some shopping around. This thing was already installed when I got here, but I was looking for one to get my dad for Christmas and there are a lot of 'em out there at various price ranges. I think my landlord said that he paid $300.00 for this one and he said it was simple to install.

kerrcarto, a Texas flag would be cool, except I'm not a Texan. Hell, I've only been to Texas twice! That is certainly a better idea than one of my idiot friends (fucking moron) suggested that I get... a San Diego fucking Chargers flag. I should've just kicked him in the nads right there on the spot. Like I really give a flying fuck about the Chargers.

To be honest, I'll probably get a Gadsden flag to fly underneath Old Glory. I like that one and the history behind it a lot.

Claudia, thank you my sweet dear. I'm pretty happy about the new place. Not the neighborhood so much, but I have all this space now, no neighbors above or below me to piss me off or get pissed off at me, and it's quiet for the most part. I think I'm most happy about having a yard. I can't wait to get a garden started! I've been known to have a pretty green thumb. Heh. Heh.

You moved into a house/duplex/condo?

Good for you. I'm proud of you.
