FOD: Strange Encounters of The Obama Kind

So, I go to the Mini-Mart to grab a couple beers and I run into a frequent acquaintance of mine. Him and I have coached basketball teams in the same league and have had passing conversations about the new season coming up over the last couple weeks. We have never talked politics personally but I know from conversations I have over heard in other stores around town that he is an Obama supporter.

I run into him in the parking lot we shake hands and have the usual small talk about how is you family.....and so on. We start to talk about the new basketball season. He tells me he is not going to sit on the board this year and asks me if I would like to take his place. I answer back that it would be the perfect scenario for me because both my kids want me to coach their teams and this would give me a perfect out (I need a break from coaching). I will happily run the concession stand.

Anyway, we finish up talking business and he asks me what FBO stands for.

This is how the rest of the conversation went down.

Me: FBO?
Him: You don't even know you have it on do you.
Me: Oh yea, it is kind of a habit.
Him: So what does it stand for?
Me: Fuck Barack Obama
Him: Well, I don't even know who that is.

And into the store he went.

In case I didn't mention this, this was a black dude.

I get to thinking on my way home. "Does this dude really think I think he does not know who BO is" or "I bet this dude is gonna think I am a racist just knowing that I HATE The Chocolate Jebus. All the while knowing I treated him as a friend even though he supported the asshat."

Am I over analyzing this?

I'd prolly say that it all depends on how the brutha said that sentence... but, when you said, "Me: FBO?". I'd think a natural response would be:

Him: Yah, on your shirt.

What FBO stands for? He knew... the reticent prick.

That's a small town Carto.
Can't you all just get along?

I'm going to have to start wearing mine. According to recent polls it seems to be quite a popular sentiment lately.

Is it possible he meant, "...I don't know who that is anymore"? As in, he isn't who or what I thought I was voting for, he is a complete fraud. I am so embarrassed by him that I don't even acknowledge him as a human being.
