Shouldn't that government official be trying to legislate that those on the public dole are not eligible to win any lottery monies? Why would a welfare scum be allowed to buy lottery tickets in the first place? The lottery is a tax on the stupid and this is prime example of that fact.
Now once I read about someone who had won a lottery and attempted to stop receiving food stamps ... and couldn't get the government to stop sending them!
I was also thinking about this woman's situation. Is she making house payments on that other place? Or did she pay it off as well? My guess is she can't sell it, and so she's stuck with a money pit. Half of her winnings have already been taken as taxes, and I imagine by the time the government is finished, more of it will be gnawed away. So, I'm thinking that in due time, even if she gave up the food stamps, she'd be back on them in the long run.
